For your entertainment (^^)

Decided to upload some Kata from my Hatsuhinode Keiko. Horrible Katas but I believe in the Reader's Digest "Laughter is the best medicine". Enjoy! (^^)

  1. I remember that park well, what a beautiful place for Kata, I am hoping that those fire ants where not out, those little guys burned my feet. I always enjoy watching the more advanced kata, yes I need to speed up my Kata in general...have never seen the Sanchin vers RTK. I see a mix of Tensho and Sanchin...more after Keiko its time for me to go to the dojo.

  2. (^^) The recent squalls must of taken care of the ants! The Tensho kata is the the way I was taught. Three steps forward in Sanchin mode, three steps forward in Tensho mode. I guess it all depends on the Dojo you went to.
The beauty of Kata is you can pick the speed at which you do it to match what you want to get out of the Kata. If I wanted more dynamic tension and heavy breathing I wouldjust slow it down. My goal in Kata, right now, is speed and fluidity, the lack of forced movements. Power comes from speed, right? (^^)
My knees were a bit shaky after the usual 1,000s for New Years. Age is showing!!!

  3. Glad the ants have moved out!! Tensho is very interesting this way, wondering if this was first taught to you in a Goju or Kyokushin school? I understand your purpose for kata. I like the idea that when you practice, you already in your mind, have the goal stated, I think I will start, tell this goal to myself each time, so that at the start, this is the goal. I often have a goal, but I seem to get lost, and find something else to work on before I am done. Kime....

Tell you what my friend if that was done after the 1000 kicks, then not much time was showing on those legs....Osu!!
